How many did you make? It has only been 6 days, have you stuck with your resolution? I am proud to say, I HAVE!!!! I know I am amazed!!!! I found an awesome site that is making it doable. I am along with 6million other people, trying to lose weight. I want to go to Mexico and have lapbanding done, but that is not an option for many reasons I can not get into. So rather than pout and give up( which I had considered doing rather than trying). This awesome site is www.sparkpeople.com Check it out and let me know what ou think. Sometimes it can be a bit confusing to navigate, but I have found forums that are very helpful in getting it figured out.

Lesson 1

Hi ladies!! Are you ready for your first lesson? There are so many different ways we could do this, so I hope this works. We are going to become familiar with the digital world. So, I want you to sign up at Digital Shop Talk and either Elemental Scraps or Divine Digital or all three. Up to you. There are 3 areas to look around and get to know and understand. Try and use the same name in all the sites you sign up to. You get to know people from there names from site to site. I am stangergirls. Let me know who you are.
1 The forums; These are a lot of fun. In the forums you are going to meet other scrappers. The digital world is HUGE ladies. They are from all over the world. People post all sorts of stuff, scrap and non scrap related info. Some of the jargon you may see: ISO= in search of. NSBR= non scrap book related. These are just two, but only ones I can think of right now. There are instructional and very helpful areas for newbies. Check them out.
Each site is set up a little different, but somewhat the same. The forums are broke up into various topics. Check them out and browse. There is generally postings for freebies on blogs, or at stores. Sometimes there is a post saying who wants a RAK(random act of kindness). Check those out, they are often times cool things to win if you comment in the thread.
2. Gallery: This is where you will post your layouts. If you want. It is also a great way to get ideas. I browse the galleries ALL the time for inspiration. Plus you can see the designers stuff. Most scrappers give credit to the designers they have used, so if you want to know who did the paper or elements then click on the photo and look at the description. They also give you a link to there stores. Very helpful.
3 Store/Boutique: Get an idea of prices and what is out there. You don't have to purchase anything, but it is fun to see what is being made.
There is an awesome blog Ikeagodess. She posts freebies with a link to the stores. It is my favorite site to find the fun and cool freebies. WARNING: don't download everything you see. You can get carried away and use up all your free space on your computer.
Ok once you have signed up, you may get some thank you gifts. Before you download I want you to make some folders to keep track of everything.
First make a folder on your desktop and lable it Scrap
When you download the freebies, they are going to be zipped and you will need to unzip them. Once unzipped place them in the scrap folder. Make sure you know where you are downloading the folders too. I have a download section, that all my downloads go, but this may not be the case. Once you click on the download, it will ask you where you want it, if you don't have a download folder make one or direct it to scrap. You are going to delete the zipped file once you download it. Decide which is going to be easy. I like having a download folder and then move my stuff to the scrap folder.
Side note: All my freebies I did not keep in there individual folder. In my scrap folder I have sub folders; Paper, Ribbons, Flowers, Buttons and so on. It was alot easier to look for paper in 1 spot rather than open up a ton of differnt folders. My teams(explain later), I kept in there own folders in a seperate folder.
Phew are you overwhelmed? That is enough for now. Later I will explain some ways to help save space. For now I think you have enough. Don't hesitate to email me and ask questions. Also the forums are awesome and very helpful!!!! Good luck ladies!!

Digital Scrapbooking!!!

If you don't know this by now, I am addicted to scrapbooking! I have recently (2years or so) started doing digital scrapping. It is so much fun. I still love paper version, just love the digital a little more. NO, I am not getting rid of my stuff, I still make cards and play in there! I have converted 2 of my friends over to the dark/digital side, and have many more who are interested in learning. I have been thinking for the past few months, how in the heck do i get them all together at the same time? How I ask you? I still don't have the answer, we would all need to have our computers and may even need the internet. So, I decided that I would try doing some lessons or leading you to the sites I learned from. Before I start doing this. I need to know if you are really interested? Please leave me a comment if you are truly interested.
Here are some pluses to Digtial: *Cleaner, you are not having to pull everything out and hurry. If you are not finished, you just save it.
*Cheaper, once you have your program, you don't ever have to spend a dime. There are a TON of freebie stuff out there. But if you do buy something you can use it over and over and over again. I recommend purchasing once in a while, support the talented ladies you offer the freebies.
* Freedom, I am not sure if this is right, but I am able to do so much more to a page than I was with paper. It really is a blast!!!
Cons: You have invested a lot of money in the paper stuff. You may use up all your computer space on freebies.
Warning: When I first started if it said free i was downloading, don't. Look at it and if you can imagine using then get it.
Always, always leave a comment thanking the person for the freebie!
NEVER, EVER give someone something you downloaded, even if you purchased it!! EVER!!
This is piracy and is a big deal. Take this seriously!!

What you will need: Adobe Photoshop any version, I have CS2. There are several other programs Corel and others that I have drawn a blank on. Photoshop has a free trial. Any program will work, I am just not familiar with others, and will not be able to help you.
Your pictures on the computer.
Ok so for now that is it!! I will wait to hear from you and then go from there!!

If you did not read her book the first time I told you too, then you must read it now! The Late Bloomers Revolution! It is the best book ever! When I get it back, I think I may just read it again. Any one who wants to borrow it, let me know.
I got Angie hooked on digital scrapbooking! I have brought her over to the dark side!! HAHA. I am not sure if she has posted her layout on her blog, but she is gooooood!! Way to go Angie, welcome aboard lady!

Whatcha think? This was made with one of my kits!!! Pretty huh? I like it! It is very summery. Now lets talk to mother nature and see if she can stop the rain. I know we need it, and as soon as it gets hot I will be complaining! It would be nice to have more than one nice day a week. That is all I am saying!
A dear friend of my moms passed away this morning. She had cancer. Her quality of life was not good. It is a blessing that she is no longer suffering. I know that it is better, but I can not even fathom being with out my mom. Pat's kids are the same age as my sisters and brothers. Grandkids, family events, these are all things that she is missing all because of cancer. Her quality of life was poor, but if she had not got cancer it would not have been. Why do some people make it to 100 years and Pat did not make it to 58. As I get older I see my parents get older and I am so afraid of losing them. It used to be that the ones that died where your grandparents age. I understand that there is reasons and all that. But at this exact moment, it just does not seem fair.

Crazy Evening

Ok, normal day! Rob and I went to Walmart on the Westside to get some flowers. We were pulling into the parking spot, and there was all these Walmart workers running out of the store toward the isle we were parked in. A ton of workers and regular people. We wondered(of course) what was going on. There was some yelling and workers telling one of the guys to settle down. I figured there was a fight. Then we see them taking this kid back into the store and this man yelling at him. Asked the lady at the plant entrance what was going on, she had no idea. By the time we checked out we found out that the kid and 4 of his friends (who got a way) called in a bomb threat over one of the phones in the store. How stupid can this boy be? That is a federal offense. The police were there by the time we left. I can only imagine what those parents are thinking.
So that is pretty exciting right? Of course. Well it does not stop there. We are driving home and on 1st street. We are just passing by Bolero, there is a motorcycle a few cars ahead of us in the same lane as us. Well, there is a car in the far lane and decided to turn left. Had to cut across our lane and the oncoming traffic. The motorcycle is going straight. The car turns right in front of the motorcycle!!! I was on the phone with Summer and hung up on her and called 911. The car in front of us pulled over and we were right in next to the bike and it was so crazy!!!!!!!!!!! They (there was 2 people on bike) got up. Oh my gosh! it was so amazing, they did not have helmets on. They were able to pull hte bike over and wait for the police. They looked ok when we finally left. What an exciting hour! It was so crazy, I saw the entire thing! So glad they were ok.

1. Ok, I found the COOLEST book!! No really it is the COOLEST book. Eat This Not That. It has a ton of resturants and tells you what is good to eat and what is not. I was suprised by some of the choices. Like at McDonalds a Quarter Pounder without the cheese is better than the Premium Grilled Chicken Club. Imagine my suprise! The book also gives you items you buy at the grocery store and holidays. You must check this book out! Barnes and Noble. It is so helpful when you are trying to eat better and still eat out.

2.. I did it! I applied at a store to sale my stuff! UGH!!! I am so nervous. Here are the screen shot of the kits I have made so far. There is so much talent out there not sure of what my chances

are. If I don't make it, hopefully they will give me some insight on what to do to improve. Cross your fingers for me.

Misty, Amy and I are finally having our first ever sisters weekend!!! I am so excited!! Not only am I spending the weekend with my sistors but we it my moms 60th birthday and we are going to be with her and my dad. This is the first ever vacation with out Summer or Rob. Summer is sick:( We spent 3 hours at Ammon Urgent care. Thank heavens it was not the flu. Before I took her in she was burning up! Holy cow she was hot. Well, gave her aleve and by the time we got to dr. it was normal. She was very brave though, they had to draw her blood and stick a swab up her nose. Hello!! I have been a very bad blogger! Since that last post I read all the books from Stephanie Myers books. You must read them!!! Really good. I have had really good luck with books lately.
Christmas is around the corner!! Can you believe this? Holy cow!! At work we have adopted a family. A 3 year old little boy and his grandma. The mom dropped son of with mom, didn't want to be a mom anymore. UGH!!! Makes me so mad. On the same hand I don't want that little boy to suffer by staying with mom who doesn't want him and could do harm to him because she doesnt' want him. Crazy thing is the grandma is a year younger than me. ME! Can you believe that?? I am getting old!!! I am old enough to be a grandma! Back to Christmas. For the past 3 years we have adopted a family. I love being able to make Christmas possible for others. I have never had to go with out (and pray I never do), but I can only imagine how horrible it would be not to afford to live let alone buy presents. It makes me greatful for what I have. Plus, it breaks my heart to think of any little kid going without.
Someone told me about a little boy someone adopted, and all he wanted was socks. How sad is that. I know Christmas is more, but when they are little it breaks my heart. Ok, it is not htat time of month. It is the season. I am pitiful!!

You would think having your birhtday on Halloween would be a blast!? Well, I am here to tell you that it is not! When I was a kid it was fun, but I am no longer a kid.(pout). Ok no more pouting!! It is not that bad. Rob took me to Ruby River for dinner last night. It was really good. A little spendy but so worth it. It was slow for tricker treaters, after our nieces and nephews came over I turned out all the lights and hid in the basement. I was hoping to see Cardon, Joesph and Addie! Bring them over, I saved some candy for them. Here is what I made on my birthday. I have been working on this page for a couple days, finally I think I got it!!!

I have been suffering from HOT. Not hot flashes, just being hot all the time. The girls will be freezing in the office and I am sweating. Miserable hot. Uncomfortable. I finally had enough and went and saw my lady doctor, NP. Serena. She suggested we do some blood work and see if I am premenopausal then go from there. My thyroid is ok. Well, I am flipping normal!! Normal! I am not old enough, I will be 37 in 7 days, but I wanted an answer to becoming an oven!! Friday, Serena called me and had no idea why, she consulted the Dr. they decided to try estrogen gel. Ok, anything at this point! Went to Eastgate to get the stuff. The poor girl behind the counter was trying to explain what I had to do. I was loving this. I have to apply the gel to the inner thigh everyother day. Well she was trying to explain this with a bunch of people standing in line, men and women! I was loving this, she was stumbling over her words, trying to explain without having to explain. Oh, it was a great day, I am terrible, but I did not let her out of it. I just let her talk and see how she was going to to do this. Not very well, but well enough that I left knowing what to do. I have been on it for a week and so far no improvements, but I don't expect to see anything for a 10 or so days. Am I mean to let that poor girl suffer? It was not as bad as it could have been. I had thoughts of asking her how to rub and various other types of quesitons, I kept my mouth shut. Just laughed the whole way home!!! Cross your fingers that is works.

Do you remember when you wanted something so bad that you thought you were going to die if you did not get it? Well, I have 2 things that I feel that way about right now. I want a Toyota FJ cruiser. Look at her! She is sooo cute!

As soon as I get the jeep paid off she will be mine.

That is a long long long long time! I don't want to wait anymore!!!!

The other thing I want really bad is to get on the creative team for one of the Weeds and Wildflower designers. I am some way awesome teams. I mean WAY awesome. They are so cool and good to me, but this was the first team I tried out for. I have LOVED them forever. If I don't make it, it won't be the end of the world, but it kind of will be. I feel guilty (my catholic/jewish in me) or like I am not being loyal to my current designers. I DO love them and still want to work with there stuff. I just want it ALL!!!! Ok wish me luck. 1. I find a million dollars or enough to pay off the jeep. 2. I get asked to be on one of the three teams.

The best thing happened today!! Not to me, but to Summer and Karli! WE are going to HANNAH MONTANA concert! Yep you heard it! Hannah Montana. oh and the Jonas Brothers. The best husband and dad in the world got the tickets for them (and me and him). It will be fun to take the girls to a concert. This will probably be the first and only concert we go together until after she is out of high school. WAHOOOO!
Now to me. Yes, it is my blog, it is always (mostly) about me. I just spent 10 minutes trying to turn the tv down and realized that I was pushing the wrong button. I turned the tv on and off, lifted the remote high up, aimed it at the tv at the cable box. Nothing. I was actually getting mad at the stupid remote (it is a new remote, not used to it.) Finally after this trial and error for ten minutes I looked at the remote for the 100th time and realized it was the wrong button. Do I feel smart!! Maybe it is the thought of going to the HM concert that has got me all flustered and can not use the remote correctly.
I am pretty pathetic. My spotlight was on my stupidity. Here is some fun news. I am hosting a challenge at Elemental Scraps on October 22. So my following of 3 and you know who you are. Can you believe this? Yesterday I had over 30 roses on this! I had planned to take some pictures and then trim it down for the winter. Well, no such luck! We woke up to a white wonderland! Just not so wonderful. My neighbor had a garage sale toady, poor guy.(that is all I can say with out swearing). It is not the fun snow, it is wet. See how my rose bush looks? Our poor trees in the back were completly bent over on the ground. I was afraid they were not going to make it. They did. (stop fretting, thanks though). This snow caused alsorts of havoc in town. Trees down, blocking roads, probably causing wrecks. Shoud be gone in a day or two, unless we get more.

I can not breath! Ok, I can, just not out of my nose. It is to late to take something so won't fall asleep and to early to take something so I can sleep and breath. So for another hour and half I am suffering. I felt stuffy but not bad, now I am postive my head is going to explode. Here is the big tip that I am sick, I don't want to scrap!! I have tried for the last hour to make a page and nothing!!! Nadda, zilch, zip. Trying to watch Pushing Daisy's. Not sure what I think. It's so-so so far. The guy who is narrating it is driving me crazy. Hopefully it's the illness talking!

Nice thing about someone: I think the person who decided to put lotion in the tissues was pretty smart. That or sick a lot!!!!

Look how cute that header is!!!! I love those colors!!! (right now). Falls is an awesome time for deep colors!! YEAH!!! Today was a great day. Had a rubberband fight. Could not hit the inside of a barn standing next to it. Somehow though I was able to nail Zach in the forehead 1 time. The other 60000 rubberbands went all over the office. I got nailed in the check, it hurt and I am going to go to work with a red spot. (makeup or the real thing). Everyone was happy and it was fun. We got our work done and still enjoyed the day. It has been along time since we have all been happy.

My nice thing for the day: Brittany Spears has lovely ears. She has nothing else going for her, but check out those ears. LOVELY

Look how cool this is? I love my new camera!!!It is so much fun and has cool things to play with.
We went to lunch in Poky with Amy and Gina. This paper the frame clusters and stars flourish is from Blythe Evans. She RAWKS!!!! This font is someone's handwriting from Elemental Scraps. How cool is that? Make your own font? I should do that. I am not sure I can with a laptop? I will have to look into this. Summer, Gina and I went to Pocatello Saturday for a scrapbooking convention. The three of us have been going for a couple years, Gina and I longer. We drove to Poky during a snow storm, yes a snow storm. Sept 29 and snow! Did not stick and Sunday was a beautiful day.
Angie is doing a thankful Thursday, so I am going to once again copy her. Not all the way. I am going to try and say something nice about someone or something every time I blog. Or should I do every other time I blog? Man that is going to be hard, but then again I don't blog every day. So for now every time. Later we will see.
I think that Oprah has nice teeth. I think she should not be on the cover of every issue of her magazine. Check out her chompers though, NICE!!!! Her ears are not to bad either. Man that was 2 things in one post. I am wiped out!!!! I challenge you to top this nice thing I said about someone.

Today I went to a funeral of a patient of mine. I have known him and his wife for 6 years. Here is the kicker, I saw him in the office Wednesday last week. He died Friday! The funeral was really nice.
Played Bunco tonight!! That was fun. Nice to get out and have fun. I get to get together with my friends and make new ones. One of the cool things is my mom, mother-in-law, aunt and daughter were among the players. I am so thankful that I have a relationship with all these ladies that I want to hang out with them. I am very lucky.
Very emotional. Funerals do that to me.

Just 3 reasons to digital scrap!! Look at these cool things you get to play with! Paper! Need I say more? If you know me, then you know that I have a SMALL problem! small prob. with paper. I love the stuff. I love the stuff so much I buy it and then don't use it cause then I won't have it. I won't let Summer or Karli use it either. So I have enough paper to make a few small houses for a small village. They would be sooo pretty! Here is the joy of digital. The paper I love, I can use over and over and over. It never goes away!! How cool is that? Same thing with elements. I could decorate my houses in these villages with brads, flowers and stickers. Or I could use the stickers to keep the house together.

I am now going to a therapist and trying to use the paper I have and share with others. If you know me, this is not an easy thing. NOT at all! But my therapist says that it will be good to use what I have and to share. SHARE!!! OMG (oh my gosh)
I am not seeing a therapist. (maybe I should) ??? Maybe he/she can figure out how to get the voices in my head to stop talking to me all the time? They keep telling me to buy more paper. Online or in the store, it does not matter! I love paper!!!!
Man, if you do not know me and stumble upon this, you may think I am crazy! I am not. I do not have voices in my head, besides the normal ones. (jokes). I do love paper. that is not a joke. NO joking when it comes to scrapping.
I am going to start an AA group for scrap addicts. We will meet on Wednesday nights and the first night I wll bring the donuts. plus my paper and pages I have made.

Ok, I gave my blog address to someone besides family. I figured I better stay on top of blogging. I am on 4 teams, and loving every minute of making pages with their kits. Each and everyone of them are so talented. I am addicted, it is all I want to do. Scrap Scrap Scrap. Ok, I do some other things, but I love to scrap. Oh crap! I need to go to a support group. Hi, my name is Shauna and I am addicted to scapbooking. I love to visit scrapbook sites and scrapblogs. I love to download freebies and get ideas from other sites. (sigh of relief)(lol)! The next person stands up and repeats pretty much the same thing. Next thing you know we are trading blog addresses and bringing our laptops to the meeting to show off our pages. Instead of talking to the others we are typing on our blogs and the others are making comments on them. I have to stop, this story can become bigger and bigger that I will have forgot what I started with. I do that, start on one subject and then somehow totally on a different topic. The nice thing about this is that alot of the girls that I work with do the same thing and have no problem keeping up with me and my thoughts (lol). We all do it. Does tha mean we are insync with each other or crazy? Don't answer that! I am adding the sites that I am addicted too, I visit them daily(maybe more) If you need inspiration, there are some awesome scrappers out there. It is amazing the pages that are made. I love it. I want to comment on everyone of them. I am getting better about that. It used to be that I would just lurk (not in a bad way). But now I am feeling not so embarassed to comment. I do not know why, but yes, I was nervous to comment. Also nervous to have anyone see my blog. I was also a little hesitant to post my pages on more than Scrapbook Max site. Got over that. Vacation

We just got back from our second annual Family Reunion. This year we went to Santa Barbara California. It was a an awesome time. Here are just a few pictures of the family at one time or another. Everyone made it, just not all at the same time. We had so much fun. We met John's kids Lina and Evan and they met most of us for the first time. It was the best week ever. (for 2007). In 2006 it was in New York that we had the best week ever. I will have to get some of those pictures on here. Maybe my family will also comment (hint hint hint) about the greatest weeks ever. Of course it is always the best week ever when we are together.
